...author for families of the Earth!
I live in one of the most inspiring communities ever; Duvall, Washington!
I have been serving this community as an Early Childhood Educator since 2010. It has had it challenges the first six years as a single mother, but life has taken a turn as I have recently discovered my husband and soul mate.
While raising my two little ones and teaching preschool, I have
volunteered and donated my art and time to the Duvall Farmers Market, Duvall Sandblast, Duvall Visitor's Center and other local events such as The March of the Vegetables, and Duvall Days.
We have also participated in a local community garden and some years ago we were really into fairy gardens, but I guess kids grow up, don't they?
Most of my art is inspired by my love for Mother Earth and my natural surroundings
...especially the sunshine. When my children were younger, I was constantly searching for books and activities that instilled this great love for Mother Earth. Eventually, I stop searching so much and started creating, this lead to a bigger vision.
and with time I hope this vision will manifest into something more than just an idea in my head.
Slowly but surely, I have been working within the community to develop a non-traditional nature-based library and learning center. And it is safe to say that this project is in the making, although the official details of this have not been finalized. If you are interested in following this project, you can find us at #ForestSchoolFriends.
What has inspired me to create this sort of local project?
Well, I've never really been into the traditional modern day pop-culture, such as famous actors and rock stars and neither have my children. So, I guess this is where it all began for me, but where it will end, I have no clue, hopefully somewhere magical. These days, my family and I love to explore and participate in local events and I am truly grateful to be part of such an active, creative and empowering community
and sharing my art and time is the best way I can express my appreciation for all that Duvall has brought to us.
